  • Leisure Facilities – Take advantage of our range of leisure facilities, Sauna, Steam Room, indoor jacuzzi, 12metre pool, outside hydrotherapy pool, and gym equipment. Facilities open from 8.00am – 8.00pm, the front of house team will provide you with a key to enter. The lockers are programmed with your own 4-digit code. Towels and changing rooms are downstairs for you.
  • Waterfall SpaEnjoy a day at our Waterfall Spa designed for that ultimate relaxation and pamper open from 9.30am – 6.00pm, click to book, or dial 152 from the bedroom telephone and speak to the friendly team.
  • Night Porter – Our attentive team are here to help in-case of an emergency and with any needs or queries during the night. Please dial 0 on your bedroom telephone or dial 07706913532.
  • Car Parking – The hotel offers free parking for residents of the hotel. We have additional overflow parking for residents too, please refer to the detailed map at the end of this directory, for more information.
  • Vending Shop – Available for those midnight treats, you will require your bedroom room key to enter, the Vending shop this is located at the far end of the bar.
  • Reception – Our reception is staffed between 7.15am and 11.30pm to assist with any check-in/check-out and any general enquiries you may have during your stay.

  • Breakfast – Start your day with a full hearty Westmorland breakfast which is served from 8.00am – 10.30am in the Garden Room Restaurant
  • Dinner – Complete your evening in our relaxed atmosphere restaurant open from 5.30pm – 9.00pm bookable online or simply book with the front of house team
  • Lunch –Fancy a light snack? The bar is open to serve lunch from 12.00noon -1.45pm

Your Room

  • Bathrobes – medium bathrobes are provided for everyone, should you require a larger size please ask the reception team.
  • Safe – Please follow the instructions to create your own 4 digit lock code. The hotel does not take responsibility for any items not placed in the in-room safe.
  • Fridge – Each room comes equipped with a fridge where you will also find your complimentary water and milk portions for tea and coffee.
  • Tea & Coffee – Tea & Coffee making facilities are provided in each room, extra supplies can be obtained from reception.
  • Nonslip Bathmat – These are located in the wardrobe in a bag
  • Hairdryer – these are either located in the wardrobe or the drawers in a bag marked hairdryer
  • Fans – We provide a mechanical fan for heating and cooling in every room, they are located the wardrobes.
  • Telephone – Dial 9 for outside line. Dial 0 for reception, to contact another bedroom dial the room number, or if a named room please ask Reception for the extension number.
  • Toiletries – Extra complimentary toiletries are available on request from reception.

Other Guest Amenities

  • Shoe cleaning – There is a shoe cleaning machine on the first floor, this is located towards room 100. (top of the stairs and turn right)
  • Housekeeping – If you are in need of some down time or a bit of privacy, please turn the card on the outside of your bedroom door to “Do not disturb.”
  • Early morning call – If you require an early wake up call, reception will be able to arrange this for you.
  • Ironing boards –Our Lakeland & Suite rooms are equipped with an Iron and Ironing board and can be found in the wardrobe. We also have ironing boards and irons located on each floor, please call reception who will advise the location nearest to your room.
  • Luggage – If you require assistance with your luggage, please contact reception to arrange this

The House Do’s & Don’ts

  • Pets – Please do not leave dogs unattended in the hotel bedrooms while you are not on the premises. We have designated seating in the bar area where you are welcome to have breakfast with you dog, however, this must be booked with reception the night before. Please note this area is not reserved in the evening for evening meals. We can provide room service if you would like to dine with your pet.
  • Candles – Please do not burn candles of any description in the rooms because of the serious fire risk from naked flames.
  • Smoking policy – The hotel is entirely non-smoking including e-cigarettes. If this policy is not observed, then an automatic £100.00 cleaning fee will be applied to the card provided at the time of booking or on check-in.
  • Check in & check out – Check-in is from 3.00pm on arrival, check-out is 11.00am on the day of departure. We accept Visa, Mastercard & American Express. Payment by cheque can only be accepted if prior arrangements have been made.
  • Emergency Exits and Procedure – For your safety, please review the Fire Notice on your bedroom door and familiarise yourself with the evacuation route.
  • The Fire Alarm system – Checked every Monday at 11am. If you have any mobility issues or disabilities, inform the reception team so we can aid in an emergency.
  • To avoid false alarms – Keep the bathroom door closed while using the bath or shower, as steam can trigger the system.
  • Dress Code – We request that footwear is worn when using the public areas of the hotel, in the evening we ask that long trousers or smart shorts are worn for the restaurant.

  • Historical – the Lake District is not only one of the most beautiful corners of the England, but it also has a huge amount of history to enjoy. From castles to Beatrix Potter, Gardens to vast lakes – we have it all on our doorstep.
  • Leisure – There is plenty to do in and around Ambleside no matter the size of your group. Here is our list of the top attractions.
  • Local Walks – Stretch your legs and get out on the hills. We have some calendar worthy views nearby so bring your hiking boots and prepare to be amazed by the breath-taking scenery.
  • Cashpoints – located at Tesco’s and Coop. The nearest bank is in Windermere, the hub just across from the hotel offers some banking services during the Post Office opening hours.
  • Doctors – should you require medical attention during your stay please call Ambleside Health Centre on 015394 32693 between 8.30am -6pm. For emergencies, an ambulance or doctor can be contacted on 999 or via reception.
